Abstract

When the bone graft is perpormed after the resection of the maxilla, the grafts are usually exposed to the antral cavity. This lead to postponed re-modelling and a higher rate of resorption & sequestration. To avoid exposure of the grafts, nasal
mucoperiosteal flap is rotated into the floor of maxillary sinus and lined the bone grafts. The nasal mucoperiosteal flap not only contributes to a better integration of the bone grafts but also enables the restoration of normal phyiologic
function
of
the maxillary sinus.
